Casa Dorca
In 1926 several pastors in a southwestern Romanian region decided to open an orphanage to care for orphaned children. The orphanage grew over the years as more and more children found a home there. In 1953 the Casa Dorca was shut down by the communist government and all the children were put into state-run orphanages. After the revolution in 1989, the right to open the orphanage was again granted. Members and pastors of local Baptist churches worked to improve the orphanage building, and in 1996 orphans were again brought in.
Kidstown International has been working with the Casa Dorca since October 2000.
